About UsBookshelf Central came into existence in February of 2009, after Dana Caywood purchased the Bookshelf from Lampstand Press. The location moved from Maryland to Kingsport, Tennessee. Dana homeschooled three active boys for 17 years, teaching all of them from Kindergarten through their high school graduation. Her oldest son, David, is managing Bookshelf Central and is married to Nikki, who works for a local cardiologist group. James, her middle son, joined the team at Bookshelf Central in August of 2009 and serves in the shipping department. Todd is the youngest, and he graduated from homeschool in May of 2009 and is attending Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, TN, majoring in math. Her husband, Mikel (pronounced just like "Michael"), is the minister of music at a Southern Baptist Church in Kingsport, where he has served for the last eleven years. Mikel and Dana are celebrating 25 years of marriage in 2009! In addition to her years of experience in homeschooling, Dana has also been on the writing team for Tapestry of Grace for eight years. |
